It seems as if reported Arsenal target Julio Cesar is set to join Napoli on a season long loan from QPR leaving Arsenal fans wondering just what happened.
The links in the press were strong with Cesar saying that he preferred to stay in London as did his kids but it seems as if the Brazilian keeper will now spend the season in Italy which isn’t quite London.
Whether or not Arsenal made an official approach for the player it’s hard to know. Trawling through the speculation it’s difficult to see anything resembling a source. Arsenal did try and sign the keeper last summer before he opted to join QPR citing the fact that he could one day become a director there. I guess he didn’t want to be a director of a club in the Championship.
As I mentioned, Arsenal fans are now wondering what exactly happened in this transfer. While it is not official that he has joined Napoli yet, from the reports which I have read it seems like only a matter of time. Some Arsenal fans have already started complaining that it is yet another player we were linked with which we have failed to sign but again, it should remembered, we don’t know how much truth there was in our reported interest in the first place.
Not every player who we are linked with who signs for another club is Arsenal ‘missing out’ or ‘failing to land’ – honest!
